Mining accident: Three killed in coal mine collapse near Sehwan
Rescue teams failed to recover dead bodies after passage of more than 15 hours.
SEHWAN Dunya News) - At least three miners were killed when a coal mine collapsed in Lakhra Coal Fields near Sehwan on Tuesday, Dunya News reported.
According to details, labourers were digging coal deep inside the mine when a big portion of the coal mine caved in, burying three labourers under the debris.
Rescue teams of mines department and local resident started rescue work, however, they failed to recover the dead bodies of the coal miners after passage of more than 15 hours.
Rescue sources said that the deceased were identified as Saeed Gul Pathan, Ahsan Ullah Shah and Gul Badshah and were residents of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province.
An average of 50 coal miners die in fatal accidents every year due to the lack of safety measures implemented by the owners.
