Speaker PA expresses anger over absence of Nazir Chohan despite production orders
LAHORE (Dunya News) - Speaker Punjab Assembly Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi has expressed his indignation over the absence of member Nazir Chohan despite the issuance of production order.
The Speaker Punjab Assembly said that we passed the Members Privilege Bill jointly adding the bill states that anyone who infringes on the privileges of the members will be punished.
Pervaiz Elahi said that what is the status of these bureaucrats, we will not allow this bill to be abolished adding that we will not allow anyone to break the law.
He said that if Nazir Chohan was not brought in the assembly on production orders then there would be daily meetings and discussions on this issue, the government would not be allowed to make any law. The attitude of the government is regrettable, he added.
"I am adjourning the meeting till Friday. The meeting will be held after 2 pm and only Nazir Chohan will be discussed," he said. The Punjab Assembly and its members should not be considered a joke.
