Vaccination for people aged 30 and older will start tomorrow: Asad Umar

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Federal Minister for Planning, Development, Reforms and Special Initiatives Asad Umar has on Friday announced that the coronavirus vaccination for people aged 30 and older will start tomorrow.

Asad Umar took to Twitter and said the decision was made in the National Command and Operation Center (NCOC) meeting today. The messages for those who are being scheduled will go out today, he added.



On the other hand, Pakistan has reported 102 deaths in the last 24 hours by novel coronavirus as the number of positive cases has surged to 893,461. The nationwide tally of fatalities has jumped to 20,089.

According to the latest figures by the NCOC, 3,070 persons tested positive for COVID-19 in the past 24 hours.

Punjab remains the worst-hit province by the pandemic both in terms of cases as well as deaths followed by Sindh, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan.

Till now 332,000 coronavirus cases have been confirmed in Punjab, 304,571 in Sindh, 128,561in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 24,318 in Balochistan, 80,010 in Islamabad, 18,547 in Azad Kashmir and 5,454 in Gilgit-Baltistan.

Furthermore, 9,704 individuals have lost their lives to the epidemic in Punjab, 4,869 in Sindh, 3,875 in KP, 270 in Balochistan, 741 in Islamabad, 523 in Azad Kashmir and 107 in GB.

Pakistan has so far conducted 12,654,997coronavirus tests and 51,528 in the last 24 hours. 810,143 coronavirus patients have recovered in the country whereas 4,424 patients are in critical condition.
