Financial irregularities unearthed in coronavirus pandemic package
The report will be published in the next two weeks after conformation from the finance ministry.
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – The Auditor General in its report on Thursday unearthed serious financial irregularities in over Rs 12 trillion package to deal with coronavirus pandemic.
The auditor general has sent the report to the finance ministry. According to the auditor general, the report will be published in the next two weeks after conformation from the finance ministry.
The auditor general has been barred from publishing the report for the time being.
According to sources, the government had decided to audit the Covid expenditure on IMF’s condition. During the epidemic, the IMF had also provided $1.38 billion to the government of Pakistan.
