Federal cabinet approves 90-day remission to jail-prisoners on Eid
The remission would not be applicable to inmates of serious crimes
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Federal cabinet on Tuesday granted approval for giving a 90-day remission to the inmates of prisons on the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr.
According to details, the remission would not be applicable to inmates facing terrorism and murder charges and those who are facing corruption cases.
After approval by the cabinet and prime minister, it would now be sent to President Arif Alvi for final approval.
Cabinet meeting was also briefed on current situation of coronavirus and pace of covid-19 vaccinations in the country. Prime Minister Imran Khan has directed strict enforcement of coronavirus related Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
