Schools will remain closed in areas with positivity ratio of more than five percent.

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – In the wake of increasing coronavirus cases, the federal government has on Friday announced further restrictions to stop the spread of the pandemic.

The National Command and Operation Center (NCOC) Head Asad Umar said schools will remain closed in areas with positivity ratio of more than five percent while outdoor dining has also been banned till Eid after indoor dining.

He said offices will close at 02:00 PM and asked people to complete their Eid preparations without waiting for last days to avoid large gatherings.

Special Assistant to the Prime Minister (SAPM) on National Health Services Dr. Faisal Sultan urged the general public to strictly follow the covid standard operating procedures (SOPs) to stay safe from coronavirus. The third wave is spreading faster than that of the previous ones, he said.

The SAPM said pressure on the health system is increasing as we are using 90% of our oxygen. He said the intensity of the pandemic is surging in the society therefore; we need to be more cautious.
