Fawad stresses need to control spread of Covid-19 within two weeks

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - Federal Minister for Science and Technology Fawad Chaudhry has warned regarding the worsening situation of Coronavirus in the country and said that if the spread of virus is not controlled within two weeks it would become a serious threat.

Addressing a press conference in Islamabad he said that the third wave of coronavirus is extremely dangerous, now Sindh province and Balochistan are also witnessing an increase in the number of people infected with the disease.

"If we do not bring the situation down within two weeks, the situation will escalate," Fawad said adding that a committee has been formed to import corona vaccine.

While briefing the media after the federal cabinet meeting, he said that the cabinet has approved to set up a registration authority to increase exports. Apart from this, it has also been decided to set up a new 318-acre commercial center in Walton area of Lahore, in the next 18 months.

He said that it used to take three years for Overseas Pakistanis to get a Succession Certificate now they will be able to get it through Pakistani embassies abroad.

Minister said that the federal cabinet has also decided to reduce student visa fees.
