Pakistan believes in permanent solution of Afghan issue: FM
DUSHANBE (Dunya News) - Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi has said that Pakistan believes in permanent solution of the Afghan issue through a comprehensive political dialogue under Afghan leadership.
Talking with his Turkish Counterpart Mevlut Cavusoglu in Dushanbe today (Monday), he said Pakistan will continue to use its peace-making efforts for peace and stability in the region, including the Afghan peace process.
Shah Mahmood Qureshi said Pakistan and Turkey are enjoying deep fraternal ties based on shared religious and cultural values and establishment of high level Strategic Cooperation Council has transformed these relations into a strategic partnership.
Appreciating Turkey s continued support on Kashmir issue, the Foreign Minister described it as a source of encouragement for the oppressed Kashmiris.
He said that Heart of Asia-Istanbul Process is a testament to Turkey s peace efforts.
The Turkish Foreign Minister appreciated Pakistan s efforts for peace in Afghanistan and assured full support from his country in all efforts for peace and security in the region.
Both Foreign Ministers made detailed discussion on the Afghan peace process and termed the 9th Heart of Asia-Istanbul Process Conference as welcome step for peace in Afghanistan.
The Foreign Minister is visiting Dushanbe to attend the 9th Heart of Asia-Istanbul Process Conference.
They also discussed bilateral relations, regional situation and other issues of mutual interest.
