Coronavirus kills 54 Pakistanis, infects 1,353 in one day

LAHORE (Dunya News) – Pakistan has reported 54 deaths in the last 24 hours by novel coronavirus as the number of positive cases has surged to 593,453. The nationwide tally of fatalities has jumped to 13,281 on Tuesday.

According to the latest figures by the National Command and Operation Center (NCOC), 1,353 persons tested positive for COVID-19 in the past 24 hours.


Province-wise Details


Sindh remains the worst-hit province by the pandemic in terms of cases followed by Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan. Most numbers of casualties have been reported in Punjab.

Till now 259,956 coronavirus cases have been confirmed in Sindh, 178,648 in Punjab, 74,167 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 19,121 in Balochistan, 45,976 in Islamabad, 10,626 in Azad Kashmir and 4,959 in Gilgit-Baltistan.



Furthermore, 5,600 individuals have lost their lives to the epidemic in Punjab, 4,436 in Sindh, 2,118 in KP, 201 in Balochistan, 511 in Islamabad, 313 in Azad Kashmir and 102 in GB.


Tests and Recoveries


Pakistan has so far conducted 9,278,613 coronavirus tests and 31,786 in the last 24 hours. 563,823 coronavirus patients have recovered in the country whereas 1,644 patients are in critical condition.
