Election Commission takes notice of Ali Haider Gilani's leaked video
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has taken notice of the video of PPP leader Ali Haider Gilani and assured that it will be investigated on merit.
On the other hand, the statement of Federal Minister Fawad Chaudhry regarding the absence of any ECP officer has been refuted by the Election Commission.
A statement issued by the spokesperson of the Election Commission said that the R&I branch of the Election Commission is open and the concerned officers are present. The Election Commission has set up a control room for the Senate elections, which is working around the clock.
Earlier in the day, Ali Haider Gillani denied allegations of horse trading after a video surfaced which exposed the PPP leader “buying vote” for upcoming upper house polls
Addressing a press conference along with PPP leader Shazia Marri in Islamabad, he admitted meeting with parliamentarians but denied allegations of buying votes for his father and PPP’s candidate for Senate seat from Islamabad Yousaf Raza Gillani.
Yousaf Raza Gillani is contesting against current Finance Minister Hafeez Sheikh for a general seat.
