Poverty can be eliminated by boosting business sector with new techniques of investment: PM
COLOMBO (Dunya News) – Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan on Wednesday has said that the long standing issue of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) can only be resolved through negotiations.
While addressing a trade and investment conference, the premier said that Pakistan is willing to resolve all the conflicts in Sub-Continent through dialogues. We had contacted Indian authorities to de-escalate hostility and resume trade ties but Indian PM Narendra Modi rejected the offer, he told.
We cannot be prospered until resolution of disputes among us, he asserted.
Meanwhile, PM Imran said that terrorism has greatly affected Pakistan and Sri Lanka by exploiting its tourism sector. Sri Lanka and Pakistan have signed memorandum of understanding to promote tourism of both the countries, he stated.
The premier further asked the business community of Sri Lanka to participate in CPEC as it will open the opportunity for the investors to utilize Gwadar port for trading. Poverty can be eliminated by boosting the business sector by adopting new techniques of investment, he added.
Imran Khan said that he came to politics with the dream of a welfare state and poverty alleviation.
The current Pakistan government has taken a number of steps towards ease of doing business, removing impediments in the way of investment. As a result of these measures, Pakistan improved by 28 points in ease of doing business in the world, he went on to say.
In the concluding remarks, the PM thanked the Sri Lankan authorities for their warm welcome and hosting the Pakistani delegation with great joy.
