Fire at thread factory in Karachi kills three employees

Four fire brigade vehicles and a snorkel reached the spot and brought the fire under control.

KARACHI (Dunya News) – At least three persons were killed in a fire that broke out at a thread factory located in Baldia Town Sector 5 area of Karachi on Tuesday, Dunya News reported.

The blaze quickly spread and engulfed the three floors of the factory. The employees of the factory said that some workers were present in the factory when the fire broke out.

Four fire brigade vehicles and a snorkel reached the spot and started operation and brought the fire under control after a hectic effort of more than five hours.

Sindh Minister for Irrigation Sohail Anwar Siyal also reached the Baldia Town. He was off the view that the fire probably started due to short circuit. Vehicles of Edhi medical teams also reached the spot due to intensity of the fire.

The fire fighters and rescue teams entered the building after breaking the shutters of the factory and found three dead bodies. The dead bodies have been shifted to hospital.
