Sindh Health Minister has suspended Deputy District Health Officer Dr Anila Qureshi

KARACHI (Dunya News) - The daughter and son-in-law of the former Sindh Governor and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Muhammad Zubair received out of turn COVID-19 vaccine jabs on Sunday, Dunya News reported.

According to sources, Sindh had received 83,000 doses of the vaccine all of which were meant to be provided to the frontline health workers and persons above 65 years age. However, Muhammad Zubair’s son, daughter and son-in-law were vaccinated against the COVID-19 even though they were neither frontline health workers nor they are elderly persons.

Taking notice of the out of turn vaccination of the PML-N leader’s family, Sindh Health Minister has suspended Deputy District Health Officer Dr Anila Qureshi and ordered EOC Coordinator to probe the issue.

On the other hand, PML-N leader Muhammad Zubair in his response to the issue said that he was not aware that his daughter and son-in-law were vaccinated. He also said that his son did not receive COVID-19 jab.

He further said that I remained governor of Sindh for five years but no one can point a finger me for taking any personal benefit during my tenure.
