PM Imran orders to launch operation against land mafia across Punjab
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - Prime Minister Imran Khan while ordering IG Punjab Inam Ghani, Chief Secretary, to launch an operation against land grabbers across the province said that land mafia has become a menace of the society.
According to details, a meeting on Ravi Urban Development was held under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Imran Khan in which the Prime Minister was briefed on the progress of Ravi Urban Development Project.
Imran Khan was presented a report on the actions taken against illegal housing societies. The Prime Minister was briefed that references were sent by various development authorities in 2016 and 2017. Despite the request of the development authorities, no FIR was registered.
IG Punjab while briefing on illegal housing schemes said that 906 references, FIR petitions were processed, 895 FIRs were registered immediately, one case has stay order and the rest of the petitions have been withdrawn.
The Prime Minister directed IG Punjab and Chief Secretary, to conduct an operation across the province adding that land mafia has become a menace of the society.
Imran Khan said that land grabbing of the overseas Pakistanis must end immediately and those who brought lifelong savings to Pakistan should get justice.
