KARACHI (Dunya News) – The provincial authorities have decided to establish coronavirus vaccination centers in six districts in Karachi.

According to details, 15 health workers will be able to receive coronavirus vaccine at the same time. All the arrangements in this regard have also been completed.

The development came after a special Pakistan Air Force (PAF) plane with the first batch of Covid-19 vaccine doses had reached Islamabad from Beijing early today.

According to the National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC), all the necessary measures have been put in place for the vaccine storage in Islamabad and its onward transportation to other parts of the country.

Meanwhile, Pakistan has reported 26 deaths in the last 24 hours by novel coronavirus as the number of positive cases has surged to 546,428. The nationwide tally of fatalities has jumped to 11,683.

According to the latest figures by the NCOC, 1,615 persons tested positive for COVID-19 in the past 24 hours.

Till now 247,249 coronavirus cases have been confirmed in Sindh, 157,796 in Punjab 67,214 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 41,418 in Islamabad, 18,823 in Balochistan, 9,019 in Azad Kashmir and 4,909 in Gilgit-Baltistan.

Furthermore 4,747 individuals have lost their lives to the epidemic in Punjab 3,996 in Sindh, 1,906 in KP, 475 in Islamabad, 262 in Azad Kashmir, 195 in Balochistan, and 102 in GB.

Pakistan has so far conducted 7,966,981 coronavirus tests and 34,785 in the last 24 hours. 501,252 coronavirus patients have recovered in the country whereas 2,092 patients are in critical condition.
