CAA issues new guidelines for travelers flying into Pakistan
KARACHI (Dunya News) - The Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) has issued a new travel advisory for travelers coming to Pakistan from different countries, which have been divided into three categories.
The guidelines issued by Irfan Sabir, Director Air Transport, Civil Aviation Authority (CAA), state that passengers coming from Category A countries will not be required to take coronavirus tests prior to their journey. Category A comprises 24 countries including Australia, New Zealand, China, Iraq, Qatar, Iceland, Sri Lanka and Saudi Arabia.
The names of the countries included in Category B are not mentioned, however, it is said that the countries which are not included in Category A and C will be part of Category B. These passengers will be required to submit 72-hour old covid-19 test reports.
Category C includes South Africa, the United Kingdom, Brazil, Ireland, Portugal and the Netherlands. The arrival of passengers from these countries will be subject to the permission of the NCOC.
Due to the reduction in coronavirus cases, the duration of PCR test for Category B and C passengers has been decreased from 96 to 72 hours.
