PML-N's Murtaza Javed, Sajjad Awan summoned by NA Secretariat for confirmation of resignations
Murtaza Javed Abbasi and Muhammad Sajjad Awan had submitted resignations in NA on Dec 14.
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – In a counter-move against Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM), the authorities have decided to accept resignations of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leaders Murtaza Javed Abbasi and Muhammad Sajjad Awan.
The National Assembly Secretariat has issued letters to both PML-N leaders summoning them for verifications of their resignations and said if they fail to appear before the speaker, it will be considered that they have nothing to say in their defense and the resignations will be accepted.
According to the secretariat, both Murtaza Javed Abbasi and Muhammad Sajjad Awan had tendered their resignations – on their official letter pads with documented signatures – in the National Assembly on December 14, 2020.
On the other hand, the PML-N leaders have maintained that they had submitted their resignations to the party leadership and not the NA speaker. PML-N spokesperson Marriyum Aurangzeb said the NA Secretariat has issued fake news.
