Mandviwala criticizes Shahzad Akbar for interfering in parliamentary affairs
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - Deputy Chairman Senate Saleem Mandviwala has criticized Adviser to the Prime Minister on Accountability and Interior for interfering in parliamentary affairs.
He said that the problem was not with the political government but with the functioning of the institutions. There is not a single day when I do not receive a call regarding the NAB. Accountability bureaus are created to prevent corruption, not to interfere in private business, he added.
Talking to media in Islamabad, Deputy Chairman Senate Saleem Mandviwala said that he has been receiving notices of NAB for a year and a half and he has been writing about NAB to chairman senate since then.
Talking about the Chairman NAB he said, I know that Justice (retd) Javed Iqbal will appear before the Senate Committee himself, the arrest was rumored by the media.
Criticizing the advisor, he said that how can Shahzad Akbar say that I should not use the Senate forum, should I go to the streets and express myself. Who is he to ask me not to use senate forum. I will write a letter to the Chairman Senate again and reconvene the Senate session; the matter is not over yet, he added.
