Senate election will be held before time: PM Imran

PESHAWAR (Dunya News) - Prime Minister Imran Khan has said that the Senate elections will be held before time, we are approaching the Supreme Court for the election through show of hands, Attorney General gave a detailed briefing on the matter.

Talking to reporters in Peshawar, PM Imran said that horse trading is easy for the government in the Senate elections, we expelled 20 MPAs from the party, we believe in transparent elections, the opposition, when we asked for dialogue demanded for 34 page NRO, I will not give NRO in any case.

Earlier Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan on Wednesday lauded the construction of Institute of Cardiology (IC) in Peshawar in limited resources.

While addressing the inaugural ceremony in Peshawar, the premier said that there was a need of heart hospital in Peshawar as the condition of Lady Reading Hospital was miserable. Patients from Afghanistan will also be coming to Peshawar for their treatment, he told.

PM Imran said that the government had found the funds amid coronavirus pandemic for the construction of the PIC. Providing facilities to the general masses is first priority of the government, he added.

Imran Khan said that bringing reforms to the health sector will improve the situation of government hospitals. He further announced to provide health cards to the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP). He said the PIC will provide quality medical treatment to heart patients in the region.

The prime minister said the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government’s universal health insurance is another important initiative in terms of provision of health coverage to the people of the province, particularly the deserving families.

Referring to the anniversary of the Army Public School (APD) tragedy, the Prime Minister said even today, we are saddened and grieved over the terrorist incident. He said the nation turned united after the APS tragedy and it defeated terrorism.


PM lays foundation stone of Hayatabad Sports Complex Upgradation Project


On the other hand, PM Imran has also laid foundation stone of Hayatabad Sports Complex Upgradation Project and said that necessary steps to be taken for promotion of all those sports which had given identity and recognition to the country at international level.

PTI government has started a number of mega projects for promotion of sports and strengthening of sports infrastructure in KP and Hayatabad Sports Complex Upgradation project was a testimony of it, he stated

He said unfortunately no proper attention was paid in the past for promotion of sports. He said Pakistan has second highest youth population in the world, therefore, international level sports facilities should be provided to youth by engaging them in positive and healthy activities.


PM distributes cheques amongst successful applicants under Kamyab Jawan program


Later, PM also distributed cheques amongst successful applicants under Kamyab Jawan program in Peshawar.

Addressing the ceremony, the premier assured to fully back the youth to promote the tourism and IT industries. He also pointed out that small and medium enterprises have an important role to generate economic activities. He, however, regretted that this sector was ignored in the past.

Imran Khan stressed the need for evolving such a system under which the banks fully support the business ideas of the youth. He said this is important to exploit the true potential of our youth.

The prime minister also expressed satisfaction over the interest of the youth in the livestock sector. He hoped the youth will run this sector on scientific lines which will help significantly bolster its production. He said if we manage to double our milk production it will be greatly benefit the population.

He said loans will also be given to the people of tribal districts which lag behind in development. He announced that the next program of cheques distribution under Kamyab Jawan Program will be held in South Waziristan.
