Details of Maulana Fazlur Rehman's assets come to light

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - According to the documents shared by Federal Minister Ali Amin Gandapur, Maulana Fazlur Rehman owns several properties in cities such as DI Khan, Islamabad, Karachi, Quetta and Dubai.

According to the documents, Maulana Fazlur Rehman owns two houses and five acres of agricultural land in DI Khan, a bungalow in F-8 Islamabad and an apartment in Dubai.

The documents state that the JUI chief also has commercial properties in Karachi and Quetta. He owns a house, a madrassah and five acres of land in Shorkot as well.

Recently, Maulana Fazlur Rehman bought and sold land worth Rs 3 billion in Chak Shahzad.

Maulana Fazlur Rehman also owns commercial land worth Rs 4.7 million, including commercial land worth Rs 1.5 million in Abdul Khel DI Khan and worth Rs 2.5 million in Shorkot.

Reacting to the documents submitted by the government, Maulana Fazlur Rehman’s spokesman said that the allegations of corruption is part of a smear campaign carrying no legal or moral significance.

The spokesman said that we do not even recognize this government, which itself is corrupt. We will not be intimidated by such tactics and will not rest before reaching our destination, he added.

He said that protection of basic human rights and democratic freedom of citizens was the first responsibility of political leadership and no force can stop them from their mission.

Maulana Fazlur Rehman’s spokesman said that PTI has been in government in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa for the last seven years but now it is time for them to be held accountable.
