Opposition should stop playing with lives of people: Firdous Ashiq

LAHORE (Dunya News) – Special Assistant to Chief Minister for Information Dr. Firdous Ashiq Awan has said that government of Punjab wants to protect lives and property of the public and asked opposition parties to stop playing with the lives of the people.

Firdous Ashiq Awan, in a tweet on Tuesday, said that politics are not important than lives of people. Cases of novel coronavirus surged in the cities where Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) held rallies, she added.

She further said that provincial government is ready to tackle coronavirus as CM Punjab has approved establishment of two new laboratories in Multan and Rahim Yar Khan.

The CM’s aide warned that second wave of coronavirus is more deadly and urged people to take precautionary measures against the virus.

On the other hand, Pakistan has hit grim milestone of 400,000 coronavirus cases and has reported 67 deaths in the last 24 hours.

Sindh remains the worst-hit province by the pandemic in terms of cases followed by Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan. Punjab has overtaken Sindh in most number of casualties.

Till now 174,350 coronavirus cases have been confirmed in Sindh, 119,578 in Punjab, 47,370 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 17,187 in Balochistan, 30,406 in Islamabad, 6,933 in Azad Kashmir and 4,658 in Gilgit-Baltistan.
