Punjab Apex Committee recommends early winter holidays in educational institutions

LAHORE (Dunya News) - The Provincial Apex Committee chaired by Punjab Chief Minister (CM) Sardar Usman Buzdar has proposed to give early winter vacations in educational institutions.

According to details, a special meeting of the Apex Committee was held under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Punjab Sardar Usman Buzdar while Corps Commander Lahore Lieutenant General Majid Ehsan, General Officer Commanding 10 Division Major General Muhammad Aniq-ur-Rehman Malik, DG Rangers Punjab Major General Muhammad Amir Majeed and senior Military and political officials attended the meeting.

The meeting participants expressed concern over the rising number of coronavirus patients and the death rate. The political and military leadership agreed to use joint efforts to deal with the second wave of Coronavirus.

The meeting decided to ensure strict implementation on use of masks in the province while recommending ban on political, social, cultural and religious gatherings.

It was stated in the meeting that violation of SOPs would not be tolerated under any circumstances. It was also recommended to quarantine people coming from abroad, especially from India.

It was also recommended to limit the number of guests for open weddings and to make early winter holidays in educational institutions.

Corps Command Lahore Lieutenant General Majid Ehsan reiterated his commitment to continue all possible cooperation with the Punjab Government. Talking on the occasion, Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar said that people s cooperation was essential to deal with Coronavirus.
