KARACHI: Recruitment of 102 underage employees revealed in Central Municipality
KARACHI (Dunya News) - Authorities have revealed that 102 minor employees were recruited in Central Municipality of Karachi, most of them were recruited in 2009.
The Municipal Commissioner has written a letter to the Secretary Local Government to withhold the salaries of these employees. The letter assures that the current procedure for minors has not been completed.
The municipal commissioner said in his letter that the 17-year-old boy was a Grade 16 officer and the 16-year-old senior clerk. The number of minor employees posted in New Karachi Zone was 53.
The deployment of 35 underage employees in Liaquatabad zone has also been revealed. In addition, 11 employees of Gulberg zone and North Nazimabad zone have also turned out to be minors.
It was being said that the total number of employees who were hired at an early age was 102.
