Chairman NAB determined to arrest fugitives, recover looted wealth

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) –Chairman National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Justice (retd) Javed Iqbal has said that NAB believes in a corruption-free Pakistan and it aims to make prosecution of corruption cases more effective, arrest fugitives and recover looted wealth.

He expressed these views while addressing a review meeting on the performance of NAB Rawalpindi on Wednesday. The meeting was attended by important NAB officials including Deputy Chairman Hussain Asghar.

Speaking on the occasion, Justice (retd) Javed Iqbal lauded NAB Rawalpindi’s performance under the leadership of Director General Irfan Naeem Mangi. He directed all officers and officials to make all possible efforts to recover looted wealth indiscriminately.

He said that cases in relevant accountability courts should be pursued in accordance with the law, while adhering to merit and transparency. All necessary steps should be taken to arrest corrupt elements so that the wealth looted from the country can be returned to the national treasury, he added.
