Death toll in Karachi blast reaches 7
The death toll in blast in a four-storey building in Karachis Gulshan-e-Iqbal has reached seven.
KARACHI (Dunya News) - The death toll in a blast at first floor of a four-storey building in Karachi’s Gulshan-e-Iqbal Block 7 has reached seven as one more injured person died at a private hospital in Karachi on Sunday, Dunya News reported.
According to details, Abid s/o Ahmed Shah was under treatment at a private hospital where he succumbed to his wounds on Sunday. The dead body of the deceased will be sent to his ancestral town Sajawal.
At least five people were killed and 27 others received injuries in an explosion in a four-storey building at Karachi’s Gulshan-e-Iqbal Block 7 on October 21 (Wednesday).
In a report Bomb Disposal Squad (BDS) stated that the blast was caused by a gas leak. It said that it couldn’t find any evidence from the spot suggesting that the explosion was caused by explosive material.
The impact of the explosion was so severe that windowpanes of the nearby building were shattered. Balconies of two apartments were completely destroyed, rescue officials said.
