Federal Minister for IT takes notice of Anti-Pak content on social media

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - Federal Minister for Information Technology (IT) Amin-ul-Haq has said that the Indian lobby used social media against Pakistan under a conspiracy.

He said that at a time when Pakistan was inviting all social media companies to come to Pakistan, these posts could be a hindrance.

The Federal Minister for IT expressed anger over the baseless news and propaganda against Pakistan on Twitter and said that it should be ensured that the social media platform could not be used for negative and baseless news.

Amin-ul-Haq said that all social media companies are responsible for preventing hate speech and negative news. The Twitter administration should immediately remove all posts based on such propaganda and unverified news.

He asked whether Indian consumers have been given the freedom to write anything wrong and spread hatred. If any Pakistani posts on Occupied Kashmir or Israel, it is blocked.

The Federal Minister raised the question whether such posts do not fall under the category of violation of international law. Social media companies should take strong action to prevent such propaganda in the future.
