Public confidence in NAB up 220%, says NAB Lahore performance report
LAHORE (Dunya News) - The three-year performance report of the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Lahore has been released, revealing that the public’s confidence in the national institution has increased by 220% while recoveries in these three years increased 890% as compared to previous years.
The report said that the performance of NAB Lahore has been exemplary under the leadership of DG NAB Lahore Shehzad Saleem. NAB Lahore received 33,911 complaints while Rs 15.81 billion was recovered in plea bargains.
NAB Lahore also recovered Rs 53.52 billion, provided relief to 58,790 people and filed references worth Rs 73.23 billion.
According to NAB Lahore, 78% of the accused were convicted in these three years. It arrested 655 people and in this time period, citizens filed twice as many complaints with NAB as they did before 2017.
Compared to previous years, NAB Lahore recoveries under plea bargain and arrests over fraud and damage to treasury increased by 280% per annum and 160% per annum respectively.
