All parties agree to resign from assemblies: Fazlur Rehman
LAHORE (Dunya News) - Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman has said that the impression of clash with institutions is wrong. The treacherous, incompetent government that has registered sedition cases is not representative of the people.
Talking to media persons after the Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam General Council meeting in Lahore, Maulana Fazlur Rehman said that the caravan of supremacy of the constitution has started in the country and all parties will participate in it. In the first two or three sessions, there will be signs of change in the country.
Maulana Fazlur Rehman said that incompetent and illegitimate government cannot be called the representative of the people. Inflation has broken the back of the poor man. The economic development of the country is our goal. The present government cannot be called the representative of the people.
He said that there is a huge protest of government employees in Islamabad and we fully support it. The option of resigning is agreed upon by all parties. Resignations are always given by honorable people, resignations are taken from weak people.
"We have not gone to extremes, we are working within the constitution," he said. The rulers are sweating at the moment. Reaching Islamabad is part of our planning, he added.
