Fifty thousand Pakistanis are waiting to return to Saudi Arabia.

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Surge in ticket prices by the Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) and delayed coronavirus test results have put the jobs of thousands of Pakistanis – who work in Saudi Arabia – at stake.

According to details, tickets of the national carrier are unavailable despite increase in prices. Fifty thousand Pakistanis are waiting to return to Saudi Arabia after resumption of travelling which was halted due to COVID-19.

The Iqama of fifteen thousand persons will expire on September 30 and they will lose their jobs if they fail to return to Saudi Arabia. The passengers have complained that the PIA is charging Rs 112,000 for ticket of Rs 84,000.
