Coronavirus situation under control in Pakistan: Shafqat Mahmood
Middle schools have reopened across country except Sindh.
LAHORE (Dunya News) – Federal Minister of Education rejected rumors of rise in coronavirus cases and said that pandemic is under control in the country; however, some school have been closed for violation of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
Shafqat Mahmood said that inspection of schools was carried out during last week to review implementation of SOPs. It has been decided to postpone reopening of middle schools in Sindh by one week and review virus situation in the province, he added.
On the other hand, middle schools in Punjab, Islamabad, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Balochistan, Azad Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan have reopened from today in second phase under strict implementation of SOPs.
National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC) had allowed reopening of middle schools for grade six to eight students from September 23.
