Nawaz Sharif's non-bailable arrest warrant received by Pakistan High Commission
LONDON (Dunya News) - The Pakistan High Commission in London has received non-bailable arrest warrants issued by the accountability court against former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.
According to details, the non-bailable arrest warrant was handed over to Pakistan High Commission in London on Friday. The High Commission has posted the arrest warrant to Nawaz Sharif’s residential address.
According to sources, an official of the Pakistan High Commission will personally deliver the arrest warrant to Nawaz Sharif’s residence on Monday as well. The Accountability Court has issued this arrest warrant in a land allotment case.
On Thursday, the Islamabad High Court (IHC) conducted hearing on Nawaz Sharif’s review petition against order to surrender in the Al-Azizia Steel Mills corruption reference.
During the hearing, National Accountability Bureau (NAB) prosecutor told that the ex-premier has been declared proclaimed offender by the court.
Justice Mohsin Kiyani remarked that Nawaz Sharif’s bail has been rejected after which he has become absconder in the case. The former premier is residing in London but his doctors are present in United States, he went on to say.
Subsequently, the court has directed to present arguments over admissibility of the plea and adjourned the hearing till September 15.
