SC approves Anwar Majeed's bail in fake accounts case

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – The Supreme Court of Pakistan has on Wednesday approved the bail of Omni Group’s Anwar Majeed in the fake accounts case but put him on the Exit Control List (ECL).

A two-member bench headed by Justice Mushir Alam conducted hearing on the petition of the prime suspect of money laundering through fake bank accounts.

The apex court directed the accused to submit his passport along with a bank guarantee of Rs 100 million and continue to cooperate with the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) during investigation.

It was clarified in the court verdict that Anwar Majeed’s bail will be cancelled over non-cooperation with the anti-corruption watchdog. The bank guarantee will be submitted to SC Deputy Registrar.
