Nawaz Sharif files plea for exemption from appearance in Avenfield, Al-Azizia reference appeals
Appeal against the sentence of Nawaz Sharif has been fixed for hearing in Al-Azizia reference
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Former prime minister Mian Nawaz Sharif has filed a plea in Islamabad High Court (IHC) for exemption from appearance in Avenfield and Al-Azizia references appeals.
According to details, Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) supremo in his plea requested court to grant him exemption and stated that he is receiving medical treatment abroad so it will not be possible for him to appear before the court.
It is pertinent to mention here that appeal against the sentence of Nawaz Sharif has been fixed for hearing in Al-Azizia Steel Mills reference.
A two-member bench of the Islamabad High Court will hear the appeal on September 1. At the same time, NAB’s appeals against Nawaz Sharif for extension of sentence and his acquittal in the flagship reference have also been fixed for hearing.
