Senate chairman, Turkish counterpart discuss bilateral relations, regional situation
Sanjrani said peace, development and economic prosperity is our common agenda.
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Senate Chairman Muhammad Sadiq Sanjarani and Turkish Grand National Assembly Speaker Mustafa Santop on Sunday held a telephonic conversation and discussed bilateral relations, regional situation and other issues of mutual interest.
According to a statement issued by the Senate Secretariat on Sunday, they congratulated each other on Eid.
Sadiq Sanjrani congratulated the Turkish government and leadership on converting Hagia Sophia from museum to a mosque, adding that Pakistan attaches great importance to relations with Turkey.
He said that Pakistan-Turkey relations, inter-parliamentary relations and people-to-people contacts would be further enhanced, adding that peace, development and economic prosperity is our common agenda.
The Senate chairman went on to say that dialogue and peaceful resolution of conflicts would be helpful in taking the development process forward.
“The parliaments have a huge responsibility in the current situation,” he said and added there is need to further promote and support coordination globally as Coronavirus virus poses new challenges.
