Cattle markets to function from 6am to 7pm: NCOC
NCOC has also decided to ensure strict implementation of SOPs in the cattle markets
LAHORE (Dunya News) - A meeting of the National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC) held in provincial capital of Punjab has decided that cattle markets will be set up outside city limits and will function between 6am and 7pm.
NCOC has also decided to ensure strict implementation of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) including social distancing, wearing of face masks and screening of customers.
A special meeting of National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC) was held in Lahore today. Minister for Planning and Development Asad Umar and National Coordinator Lt. General Hamood Uz Zaman Khan presided over the meeting while representatives of Islamabad, Azad Kashmir and other provinces attended the meeting via video-link.
During the meeting it was also decided to increase the number of cattle markets to reduce overcrowding while plan which was followed for Eid-ul-Fitr prayers will also be followed on Eid-ul-Azha.
Meanwhile, Chief Corporation Officer Syed Ali Abbas Bukhari said that the markets would be located two to 45 km away from the urban population and will become operational 10 days before the Eid and each market will have a livestock and health department camp. Only 2 persons will be allowed in the market with mandatory masks.
It is pertinent to mention here that it was the first meeting of NCOC in any province and such meetings would also be held in provincial capitals of other provinces.
The meetings at provincial capitals are aimed at forging national unity against coronavirus, better understanding, cooperation and creating harmony among the provinces.
