ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Federal Minister for Planning, Development and Special Initiatives Asad Umar Saturday tweeted that there were 2,969 COVID-19 patients in Pakistan who needed oxygen and 546 who were on ventilators on June 20.

The federal minister said the numbers have decreased by the grace of Almighty as 1,762 patients needed oxygen and 394 were on ventilators yesterday which means reduction by 28 percent.

He said, “The success of smart lockdown, administrative actions concerning standard operating procedures (SOPs) and most important of all, better conduct by people is prominent.

“The significant thing here is that stopping the spread of coronavirus is in our collective control. If we continue to take precautions, our health as well as employments will remain protected. Otherwise, God forbid, we may also face situations like America, Brazil and India.”
