Protection of minority rights, equal opportunities is Govt's top priority: PM Imran Khan
ISLAMABAD (web Desk) - Prime Minister Imran Khan has directed to expedite the process of proposed legislation to protect the rights of minorities and said that protecting the rights of minorities and providing equal opportunities in all walks of life is the government’s top priority.
He expressed these views while talking to members of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) in National Assembly belonging to the minority communities.
Among the members who called on the Prime Minister were J. Prakash, Shanila Rath, Lal Chand, Ramesh Kumar and Jamshed Thomas. Minister for Religious Affairs Noorul Haq Qadri and Malik Muhammad Amir Dogar were also present on the occasion.
The members briefed the Prime Minister on issues of their respective constituencies, especially pertaining to matters of the minority communities.
Talking to the members, the Prime Minister said that the role being played by the minority community in Pakistan’s development and prosperity was commendable.
Imran Khan said that we will continue to take Pakistan forward by promoting unity and religious harmony among our ranks. On this occasion, the PM also directed to release funds for the construction of a temple in Islamabad.
