Entire market will be closed for violation of SOPs: Aslam Iqbal
LAHORE (Dunya News) – Punjab Minister for Industry and Commerce Mian Aslam Iqbal has announced that businesses in the province will be closed after 7pm, meanwhile shopkeeper and customers will be required to wear masks.
Addressing a press conference in Lahore, the minister said that SOPs would be strictly enforced and entire market would be closed if violation of SOPs was reported. He further said that government has asked traders to remove encroachments from outside of their shops and prevent children and elderly from entering the markers.
Meanwhile in Gujranwala, several major markets of the city were closed for violation of the government issued SOPs and all customers were sent back home.
On the occasion, DCO of Gujranwala said that all markets, which are not implementing SOPs, will be closed.
Earlier, the federal government also announced to shut all big markets across the country which violate standard operating procedures (SOPs) to counter the coronavirus pandemic.
Special Assistant to the Prime Minister (SAPM) on Political Communication Shahbaz Gill tweeted, “Under the National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC) decisions, several big markets across Pakistan will be closed today over violation of lockdown SOPs.
