PM reviews prevailing situation following Covid-19 pandemic outbreak
Lockdown is a temporary arrangement against Coronavirus: PM
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - Prime Minister Imran Khan says the government eased the countrywide lockdown phase wise to maintain balance between economic activities and protective measures against Covid-19.
He was chairing a high-level meeting in Islamabad on Monday to review prevailing situation following outbreak of Covid-19 pandemic in the country.
The prime minister said imposition of lockdown is being considered as temporary arrangement against Coronavirus at international level, and protective measures are the only viable option to overcome the pandemic.
Imran Khan directed the authorities concerned to prepare a comprehensive strategy regarding provision and usage of ventilators to Covid-19 patients in the hospitals.
During the meeting, the prime minister was given a detailed briefing on the prevailing Covid-19 situation, number of patients, provision of safety equipment to paramedical staff and doctors in various hospitals.
