Traders vow to reopen business centres in Karachi from Monday

Business community leaders said that small businessmen are suffering huge losses due to lockdown.

KARACHI (Dunya News) – Traders in Karachi have vowed to reopen business centres and markets across Sindh from Monday, assuring to strictly follow the SOPs issued by the higher authorities.

Speaking to media after meeting with Sindh government officials, leaders of business community said that small businessmen are suffering huge losses due to lockdown imposed to prevent spread of coronavirus.

They asked the Sindh government to release standard operating procedures (SOPs) and assured that the traders would follow them.

They also insisted to reopen all markets without any discrimination for the type of businesses as the traders have already faced serious troubles due to the lockdown situation

Meanwhile, Sindh Minister for Labour Saeed Ghani said that the provincial government has decided to allow reopening of some businesses in accordance with the SOPs designed by the Centre.

Saeed Ghani said that the provincial government was aware of the impact of lockdown on businesses and added that limited business activities will be allowed in the province from Monday.
