Shehbaz Sharif has certain medical issues due to which he is in self-isolation, said the former PM

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) senior leader Shahid Khaqan Abbasi ahs demanded that Opposition Leader Mian Shehbaz Sharif should be interrogated on-camera on April 22.

Speaking at a press conference in Islamabad, the former Prime Minister said that this is the time for leaders to take charge and lead, not cry foul. He urged the government to take matters pertaining to lockdown seriously and not ease countrywide restrictions as the PM himself has indicated that the number of deaths may increase in the future. He also alleged that the PM’s corona relief tiger force has been formed on political basis and will serve as a conduit for corruption.

He criticized the National Accountability Bureau for not taking action on the sugar and wheat scandals, saying that the country cannot be run in the presence of such a government and NAB. He said that the country’s economy has been destroyed by the incumbent government and if the same attitude persists, who will want to invest in Pakistan?

Shahid Khaqan further said that they are not afraid of being locked up in jail but Shehbaz Sharif’s treatment reeks of incompetence and dishonesty, which they will not stand for. He said that remarks given by Supreme Court and High Court about NAB are hidden to no one.

The leader accused the government of suppressing the opposition through false cases; once Shehbaz Sharif was exonerated in Saaf Paani case, he was trapped in Ashiana Housing scheme scandal by the government. He also questioned NAB’s haste in proceeding with case saying that Shehbaz Sharif has certain medical issues due to which he is in self-isolation against the coronavirus outbreak.
