Pakistan requests lists of imprisoned Pakistanis from foreign countries
Pakistani missions will ensure that the deported prisoners are Pakistani citizens
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – The Interior Ministry has requested relevant countries to provide the lists of Pakistani prisoners to be deported to Pakistan.
In a statement by Interior Ministry, the prisoners have been divided into three groups and only those prisoners having uncancelled identity cards and passports will be able to return after verification.
Verification of citizenship and data will be done using uncancelled identity cards and cancelled passports, after which the prisoner will be deported.
The statement further said that incase passports are not cancelled, the prisoner will have to fill out a form at the relevant mission and the Foreign Ministry will send these applications to Ministry of Interior.
Pakistani missions will ensure that the deported prisoners are Pakistani citizens and their return will be according to prescribed schedule.
