The apex court has nullified the notification issued by Punjab government

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – The Supreme Court has nullified Punjab government’s decision to mandate recovered coronavirus patients to produce a coronavirus travel certificate for inter-district travel.

According to details, the apex court, while hearing a suo motu case related to non provision of facilities in hospitals during the viral pandemic, nullified the notification issued by Punjab government.

Chief Justice Gulzar Ahmed remarked that how can the Punjab Government impose a ban on inter-district travel without corona certificate from local authorities?

Additional Advocate General Punjab said that this notification was issued through coronavirus ordinance 2020 to curtail the spread of the virus, in reply to which the Chief Justice asked that on what basis was this directive issued as Article 15 is a part of Federal legislative list.
