PM Imran Khan arrives in Quetta amid YDA's sit-in

PM Imran has been given briefing regarding the coronavirus (COVID 19) situation.

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - Prime Minister Imran Khan on Thursday has reached Quetta on a day-long visit today (Thursday) where he was given briefing regarding the coronavirus (COVID 19), Dunya News reported.

PM Imran held meetings with Governor Balochistan Amanullah Khan Yasinzai and Chief Minister Jam Kamal Khan during his visit to provincial capital.

Chief Minister Jam Kamal has briefed Prime Minister over coronavirus (COVID 19) situation in the province and measures taken by the government to stem the spread of deadly disease.

On the other hand, Young Doctors Association (YDA) and paramedical staff again staged protest in Quetta as government failed to fulfill its agreement to provide them coronavirus medical gear.

YDA held a torch-bearing rally in front of Civil Hospital Quetta and also staged a sit-in near Chief Minister House. They demanded action against the police personnel who resorted to violence against the doctors during protest on Monday.

The protesting doctors also demanded personal protective equipment (PPE) kits for health workers who are on the front lines of the country s battle against the coronavirus.

A YDA spokesperson said that the provincial government got over signatures on receipt to provide N95 masks to health workers but instead gave us paper masks to fight coronavirus pandemic.

Young doctors and paramedical staff in Quetta had ended their strike on Tuesday after successful talks with the Balochistan government.
