PM Imran has reiterated his commitment to provide ration at the doorstep of poor: Dr Firdous

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Special Assistant to Prime Minister for Information and Broadcasting Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan has said that some people want to save their sinking boat by doing politics on coronavirus outbreak.

SAPM expressed these views during a video conference with media. Dr Firdous said that Prime Minister (PM) Imran has reiterated his commitment to provide ration at doorstep of the poor victims.

Firdous Ashiq Awan said that the biggest challenge is supply of food and lockdown has affected the working class due to closure of factories, restaurants and construction industry. PM will announce a program to supply food to the poor through youth, she added.

She further said that whole world is in crisis due to coronavirus and Pakistan is undergoing a difficult phase. She termed caution as the only cure for coronavirus and said that government cannot defeat the virus without help of the people.

Dr Firdous informed the media that there is no shortage of food commodities in the country and CM Punjab has allocated Rs 10 billion which will be disbursed to 2.5 million people to buy ration.

Firdous Ashiq Awan also criticized the opposition leader and said that Shehbaz Sharif had been the Chief Minister of Punjab for ten years and if he strengthened the health structure, his family would not have to go abroad to get treatment.
