Balochistan govt bans congregation prayers in mosques as coronavirus cases spike
Only three to five persons, including mosque staff, will be allowed to offer prayers in mosques.
QUETTA (Dunya News) - The Balochistan government has imposed a ban on congregation prayers, including Friday prayers in mosques across the province in a bid to stem the spread of coronavirus, Dunya News reported on Thursday.
According to a notification issued by Balochistan home department, the ban will remain effective from today (March 27) till April 4, requesting masses to offer prayers at home.
Only three to five persons, including staff of the mosque, will be allowed to offer prayers in mosques. The decision was taken to curb the swiftly increasing cases of coronavirus in the province.
Earlier, the Sindh government has imposed a ban on five-time prayers and Friday prayers in the province from March 27 till April 5 to contain the spread of coronavirus in the province.
