Three coronavirus patients recover in Pakistan out of 28.

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Three coronavirus patients in Pakistan have been discharged from hospitals after recovery and no fatalities in the country are reported so far. The recovered patients belong to Sindh.

The Ministry of National Health Services has on Saturday prepared a report over coronavirus cases in Pakistan stating that total 609 suspects were tested for the virus on Friday and 78 more samples have been sent to the laboratories.

28 patients in Pakistan have been tested positive for coronavirus so far. The sufferers include 16 from Sindh, six from Balochistan and three apiece from Islamabad and Gilgit. All patients are stable as per the report.

Borders Remain Closed

The federal government has decided to keep its borders in Balochistan with Iran and Afghanistan closed for two more weeks in the wake of Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19).

Trade and all other activities at Taftan border with Iran and Chaman border with Afghanistan have been suspended completely. The volunteer return of the Afghan migrants is also held off.

The return of Pakistani pilgrims from Iran through Taftan continues in steps. The pilgrims are kept at the Pakistani House and under quarantine for screening and are only allowed to leave once they are tested negative for the virus.

Sindh Government Advisory

On the other hand, the Health Department of Sindh has issued an advisory in the wake of COVID-19 and advised people to stay at homes or offices.

The health department has urged people, especially respiratory patients and those suffering from fever and other viral diseases, to avoid unnecessary visits outside and to maintain a distance of one meter from others in crowded places.

Directions have also been given to form health desks in public places. Those individuals who perform security duties of checking people should wear safety gear. The health department has urged people to avoid smoking.

It has been directed to take temperature of guests, workers and pilgrims at hotels and guest houses and to not allow anyone suffering from cough or body aches to stay.

Let it be known that Special Advisor to Prime Minister on National Health Services Dr Zafar Mirza had also confirmed Friday that number of patients infected with COVID-19 increased to 28.

Dr Zafar Mirza said that preventing this virus from spreading further is government’s top priority.
