ECP suspends membership of 318 lawmakers
Suspended lawmakers will not be allowed to attend assembly sessions
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has on Thursday suspended membership of 318 lawmakers in both houses of parliament for not submitting annual statements of their assets by the last date.
According to details, the list includes Federal Minister for Law and Justice Farogh Naseem, Minister for Science and Technology Fawad Chaudhry, Minister of State for Climate Change Zartaj Gul, former Prime Minister Raja Pervaiz Ashraf, PTI MNA Aamir Liaquat Federal Minister for Religious Affairs Allama Noor-ul-Haq Qadri and others.
Suspended lawmakers will not be allowed to attend assembly sessions and participate in lawmaking.
According to election commission, the numbers of suspended lawmakers include 70 from National Assembly, 12 from Senate, 115 from Punjab Assembly, 40 from Sindh Assembly, 60 from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Assembly and 21 from Balochistan Assembly.
Suspended lawmakers also include MNA Sadaqat Abbasi, Aamir Kiani, Farrukh Habib, Raja Riaz, Alamgir Khan, Abdul Qadir Patel and Barjees Tahir.
