Six of a family among 10 die as heavy snow causes roof collapse in Balochistan

QUETTA (Dunya News) – At least 10 people including three women and three children were killed in separate incidents after roof of the houses collapsed due to heavy snowfall.

As per the details, at least six persons of a family including women and children were killed in a roof collapse incident due to heavy snow that occurred in Shahab Zai area of Balochistan province.

The locals and rescue team rushed to the spot and shifted the ill-fated family to a nearby hospital.

On the other hand, incessant rain in parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa turned weather cold. Heavy downpours lashed Bolan, Bhag Nari, Dhadhar, Bala Nari and suburban areas.

The intermittent rain caused tripping of more than various feeders, plunging portion of the different areas into darkness.

Meanwhile, the Mach and Kalpor road remained closed to traffic due heavy snowfall.

Balochistan Chief Minister Jam Kamal Khan visited the National Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) to assess the damage caused due to severe snowfall in the province.

Talking to media, he said that high alert has been issued to the commissioners and deputy commissioners.

Jam Kamal said that some highways were closed due to heavy snowfall which has been reopened, adding that the Balochistan government is utilizing all the resources in view of the snowfall situation.
