Fawad Chaudhry says 'holds' rights to seek CII's performance
Fawad said that the CII is a tax-funded institution and it is entitled to report its performance.
LAHORE (Dunya News) - Federal Minister for Science and Technology Fawad Chaudhry on Friday said that the Council of Islamic Ideology (CII) is a tax-funded institution, and the taxpayers are entitled to inquire about its performance.
Talking to media representatives at an event in Lahore, Fawad Chaudhry expressed that the opposition has shown the sense of responsibility on the Army Act while positive discussion on National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Ordinance is underway.
On the other hand, he said that the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Shehbaz Sharif should be declared wanted as he will fall sick if he is asked to return to Pakistan. Responding to a question, he asserted that the health of former premier Nawaz Sharif is not an issue but Shehbaz’s health will deteriorate whenever he has to come back.
Meanwhile, he said that a feud has started in the PML-N. “We have even heard that the PML-N has also asked Khawaja Asif to stop attending the party’s meetings”, he added.
On Jan 9, Federal Minister for Science and Technology, Fawad Chaudhry Thursday emphasized on restructuring of Council of Islamic Ideology (CII) in line with modern requirements.
In his message on Twitter, Fawad Chaudhry criticized the CII’s decisions and said there were serious questions on the performance of this institution.
He said till date ,the religious sections have not received any guidance from this council. “It is beyond my understanding to spend crores of rupees on such an institution”.
“The council needs to be restructured and more scholarly people should handle this institution”, the minister stated.
